Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

SUCH A GREAT HIKE! (Sorry Mt Wilson fans) I enjoyed this hike much more than Mt Wilson.

Got to the trailhead about an hour later than planned, around 6:45a, and as mentioned in some of the other logs the parking lot was full. I had anticipated crowds but was still a little surprised. I was also a little surprised at what the low 40’s feels like on the trail. The first couple of miles along the creek are really enjoyable and since it’s out and back a great ending as well. Was definitely ready for a little break by the time I got to the saddle. Did some leap-frogging with fellow hikers on the rest of the way up but still managed to make pretty good time. Was rewarded with amazing views and lucky to have an “above the clouds” kind of day.

Notes:
Not much on this one. Make sure you pack your water. Enjoy the views! Say hi to the lady bugs. Dip your tired feet in the creek before heading to your car.
