Bugs galore!! Trail started great with hot weather, but plenty of shade. After the trickling waterfall, the bugs showed up just to say hi. By the time we reached Sturtevant Camp the bugs ganged up for the rest of the hike. They enjoyed visits in my eyes, nose and mouth. I resorted to wearing my buff to cover said violated parts and proceeded to feel overheated. It was a struggle. The peak was so rewarding compared to what I was expecting after reading comments from others. It wasn’t the San G view, but come on, it’s half the elevation. It has a museum and so much history! It was such a treat.
