Though my preference is to start before 6 it was closer to 7 this day. But the weather was pleasant enough as we started to climb so that there was no worry for heat issues 😎 Since it was a weekday, trail conditions were perfectly uncrowded! This was also my first time hiking any trail to Baldy and it’s definitely my NEW favorite 💘 Just when I thought “Oh this is grueling” the ground would throw a level stretch and I could stop gasping for oxygen long enough to look at the gorgeousness around me! Summitting was glorious for two reasons: the views are spectacular, I was running from edge to edge to edge trying to take it all in! And….as a child Mt. Baldy was the view from my bedroom window and I always wondered what it would be like at the top 😊 The best part of my day though was being equipped to help a fellow hiker whose foot was blistering. After some moleskin was applied he was able to summit and I am grateful for the opportunity. It’s easy to help another and I hope we all do so at every chance. So I guess that’s three reasons this hike is my new favorite lol 😅
