Trailhead Vivian Creek Trailhead

Met at the Vivian Creek Trailhead parking area at 0430 (lot was open at this hour). Headed out around 0445. Weather was cool at first, but we were ready to delayer a short while into the climbing. We spotted a few deer as we hiked along the Vivian Creek area. Always a relief to discover that the large, reflecting eyes in the woods belong to a doe! Great weather yesterday! Great trail conditions. A cold, strong wind at the summit and initial descent. Great company and a kind and patient hike leader! As a newer hiker, this was a challenging and seemingly neverending hike! However, this was a very special day for me! I spent my 56th birthday climbing the highest mountain in SoCal and finishing my first Six Pack of Peaks Challenge!! Happy Birthday to me!!
