This was a beautiful tough hike. You get a jump start from the get go with steep switch backs. This alone should tell you it is a strenuous hike. A challenging hike (for me) but it seemed somewhat easy for the young adults. The trail is very well marked. two water source locations at Vivian creek at the beginning and High Creek almost at the top. We had good weather cloudy overcast and it got cold during the last mile above the tree line. On the way down the clouds continued to move in and we got some light showers for a short period. I’m glad I had my jacket, gloves and rain/wind jacket. the weather at higher elevation seems to change quickly so you never know. I’m glad I was prepared.
