Trailhead San Antonio Falls Trailhead

Three of us started our hike at 6:45am from the San Antonio Falls Parking area. We took the route towards the notch. Stopped at a few geocaches along the way throough the Devil’s Backbone Trail. We reached the summit at 10:30am. Wow!!!! what a beautiful view. Along the way we found a few patches of snow, but nothing major or anything that needed crampons. This was our first time going the Devil’s Backbone route and we did take notice that if there was snow along the backbone and we didn’t have the proper equipment it would be very dangerous. But our trip was no problem. We had lunch at the top and then came down the Ski Hut route. We found more snow along that route but still had no issue with just our hiking shoes and poles. We were back to the car at 1:30pm. Such a great day!!! Peak 2 out of 6 completed. Wilson and Baldy done. On to the next ones.
