We are pretty sure this was our 5th, possibly 6th, time up Baldy. This was only her second time taking the ski trail and our first time doing the full loop. It was really sad to see how many “versions” of the trail there are, presumably due to people cutting the trail. We saw some signs of maintenance but woefully inadequate. The weather was mostly great, pretty intense winds up top and on the rock/scree switchback portion of the east face heading towards Devils Backbone. Saw two of the Heroes Project crew, one of them apparently a double amputee, heading up. I was overcome with emotion. It was awe inspiring to see him and I wish I would have stopped to thank them both for their service. If they somehow see this- THANK YOU!
