Trailhead Vivan Creek

Was a beautiful day. Despite having to apply for the permit weeks ago, I couldn’t have picked a better day temperature wise. Getting up to Vivan Creek Campground is absolute torture. Fortunately, you still have fresh legs. It flattens out after the campground to High Creek. Above High Creek was again rough. Long switch backs that aren’t too steep was take a toll on you mentally and psychically. Above 10,500 feet altitude was slow going. More switch back and then just a general tough incline.

The way back down isn’t so bad but is a mental grind. Just feels endless. Ended up having to finish in the dark but it was nice to collapse next to my car and look up to see an endless amount of stars. Kind of can’t believe I finished the 6 pack.
