Peak Mt Baldy
Group N/A
Trailhead Manker Flats

Great little hike up Mt. Baldy, round trip was under 4 hours. Got to the Ski Hut, than the snow appeared. Made the ski hit in an hour than summited about an hour later. Tracks in the snow were easy to follow and more or less hit all the sign posts and trail markers. Just a couple hundred feet before summiting I saw the funniest thing, a gentleman walking down from the summit being followed by a little fat dog. They did not see me since I was a little higher up on a ridge line. I reached the top and took in some great views! The sea of clouds looked amazing! I ate my lunch and enjoyed the windy summit all to myself. After about 20 minutes I started back down and came across the gentleman and the little fat doggy, up close I could now see he was smaller and fatter than I had realized. He was an Alpine Chihuahua! The gentleman told me they hike up here twice a week, I couldn’t believe this little guy did this. Great hike, did not need crampons or a map, gloves were nice at the summit – that wind was chilly.
