Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

We started up the trail as described on SoCalHiker. With all the rain we’ve been getting, the river crossings were plentiful, as were the trickling streams along the route! Once we passed the camp and the rock field, the trail got serious! Just as we were about to collapse on the switchback, the views opened up! I think chasing views views is what got us to the top!

Note that the bathrooms at the summit are closed, as is the Cafe (until 4/1). There was coffee and hot water available, so if you bring a dehydrated meal, you can have that for lunch and warm up!

The clouds made the hike up beautiful, but totally obscured the Wilson Trail down; plus there was a sign at the trailhead stating that route was closed due to a bear attack!!!! Omg!! So we descending the way we came. That incline at the end of the trail nearly did us in though, so be warned!
