Closure of the trailhead and parking lot right after we got there resulted in only a handful of hikers on the trail. The mountains were so quiet and the weather was perfect. The bugs were minimal. Cucamonga Peak did not disappoint. We were above the clouds and enjoyed every moment.
We are looking for alternates to SB Peak because we don’t have snow gear, thought Cucamonga would be a good alternative. How early did you go and why do you think the trail head got closed?
