July 4th weekend. It was pretty busy. I took the Fire road up to Baldy Notch. There was an annoying group with music blarring. I kept passing them and then they would pass me. I couldn’t shake them the whole day. The Devil’s Backbone wasn’t really scary as some say. I’m scared of heights a bit and didn’t really feel anything. I took a small detour to Mt Hardwood. I seemed like the only one who did. Another group even thought I was lost and tried to call me back. Baldy’s peak was great for a lunch break and then I headed back down the Baldy Bowl trail past the ski hut. 4 weeks out from Mt Whitney!
