Peak San Bernardino
Group N/A
Trailhead Angeles Oaks

6:00 am on a beautiful warm morning, we headed out to climb our final peak of the Six Pack of Peak Challenge – yeah! Temperatures were in the low 60s with perfectly sunny skies. From 9,000 feet to the summit we encountered a series of snow sections that we easily walked over. As we made our way along the trail we encountered one large group and a few solo hikers. We met Jim (in his 70s!) who in the last week summited four peaks with this one being his fifth. Tomorrow Jim will hike San Jacinto to finish the Six Pack of Peaks. We also met Beth who today completed her own personal challenge of climbing trails that sum 55,000 feet – to celebrate her 55th birthday. We of course, shared our own milestone as well. At the summit we chatted a bit and posed for each other’s photos. What a great hike! Three groups of strangers coming together to celebrate our love of outdoor adventures. Thank you Jeff for creating this challenge that encourages us to reach new heights and reap benefits of meeting so many outstanding inspirational hikers and making new friends. Challenge accepted, mission accomplished!
