Group Hiked with my husband and a friend =)
Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

We woke up at 3am to depart San Diego at 4am. We made it to the trail head by 6:15am. The parking lot was ALREADY PACKED!!! I was surprised and not surprised at the same time. It was supposed to be hot that day so we wanted to get an early start and finish. We began hiking between 6:30-6:45am. On the way up it was shady and beautiful and breezy. My lungs were struggling a bit though and I had to keep taking mini breaks. It was beginning to get a little warmer as we approached the top. We summited at 10:30am. It was beautiful and we sat in the shade, ate our delicious snacks we packed, drank our frozen gatorade, and swapped stories with fellow 6-peak challengers. After a nice rest, we snapped our photos and began the trek down. The trek down WAS HOT!! The last 2 miles were a little bit miserable, not going to lie. From the heat, to our aching feet and bodies, to being held up a bit because of so many people being there, it was rough. We finally made it back to the car by 1:30pm and high tailed it to Dairy Queen for some well deserved blizzards! The hike HURT SO GOOD. It was fun and I can’t wait to do another one!
