The Hayduke Trail

Do you have any info on the Hayduke Trail? Wondering about a one- to two-week section hike with a couple GFs who've just started BPing with me, but are not super experienced. They are in shape though (keeping in mind that we are 50-somethings). I have the info from www.hayduketrail.org, but the WARNING has me wondering... I like your style--you're not a snooty psycho-hiker, so I trust and look forward to your input. Thanks so much for anything you can suggest! Karen

Personally, I don't have any practical advice on the Hayduke Trail. I've heard of it, but haven't hike any part of it and don't know of anyone who has. But from the description on the website, it looks epic. It also travels through what can be some pretty harsh country, so you are wise to be cautious. Anyone have any experience with the Hayduke Trail and have some words of wisdom to share?
