Hiking and photography seem to go together like hand and glove. Do you have photo that you’re particularly proud of? Share it here with a description of where you took it. To add your photo, all you need to to is paste the URL to it.

I shot this over Memorial Day weekend in 2010, hiking up to Nevada Falls in Yosemite. We were camping in the valley with one of our future JMT hiking partners and his friends, and taking day hikes.

I have no idea who these people are, but I looked towards the sun and saw the green, the light and everything just came together.

This is my favorite hiking picture I have taken. It was the first view of half dome right before we started the cable root up to the summit. I love the way it looks in black and white, so daunting. I also like the hiker in the bottom right even though I have no idea who it is.

Hope I can submit two, but this is my second favorite. It is when we were approaching Mt Whitney from the back side and just getting the massive panorama of how much you can see over. It was awe inspiring.

Thanks, Josh! Both are epic shots. Half Dome is always inspiring. You get to the the little hill looking down at the saddle, scratch your head and wonder “I’m going up THAT?!”

And Mt Whitney takes your breath away — literally and figuratively! Both times I’ve summited Whitney I’ve hiked up just in time to catch the sunrise. I only wish a photo could do that justice.

Some things just have to be experienced to be believed.

I could look at all three of your photos all day. They are all super!

Here a few of my favorites and I have MANY:

These few were taken spring in Fremont Canyon in Orange County, CA on the same hike and show the diversity of our SoCal landscape.

I enjoy photos that include people in them and my kids are my favorite subjects. 🙂 So kids hiking, check.

And I still like these two of our tweet up showing hikers in action in a local SoCal landscape.
