Heard from a fellow socalhiker and just verified on their website. Closed for annual maintenance; scheduled through end of September with a tentative re-opening of 9/30/17.
So if you still need San Jacinto, you will need to bag the peak via the Marion Mountain route from the Idyllwild side, or another route that does not require use of the tram. Jeff details the Marion route on the Six Pack description for Jacinto.
I’m going to be hiking San Jacinto this week from Humber Park, up Devil’s Slide. I’ll post a trip report sometime next week.
We are planning on hiking Mount San Jacinto on Saturday, Sept 16th. With the tram out due to service, which route would you suggest? Humber Park? Marion Mountain? or other?
Thanks!
