Hey Everyone congrats to all who have completed their Six Pack! I’m looking to do San Jacinto on one of these days: 11, 14, 18, or 21. I hike at a moderate pace and I like to make quick photo stops periodically. So definitely not a speed hiker 🙂
I’d rather not have to do it solo aaaaand…. It’s my last peak!
If you can, please join me !!September 7, 2017 at 8:06 pm #393216
Hi Natalie. I started the Six Pack late so I still have three more to go. I can do San Jacinto on any of those days. I am also not a speed hiker and I like taking photos too!September 9, 2017 at 6:23 pm #393297
I started late as well. I can do San Jacinto on the 21st. Let me know!!September 9, 2017 at 6:48 pm #393300
I already did Jacinto – it was my first peak – but I need to get back in the mountains after family stuff kept me home all of August. I’d be happy to join you. I did the tram route but am open to other ways – I hear the route from Idyllwild is really pretty, and you can start much earlier as you don’t have to wait for the tram. I am flexible and an enjoyable photo-filled hike would be perfect! I just have to be back home by 4 pm or so to pick up daughter from school.September 9, 2017 at 6:50 pm #393301
Btw I still need Baldy and Gorgonio, if any of you need those. I just read you can self-issue Gorgonio and Bernardino permits for day hikes now, so I can go anytime except Fridays.September 9, 2017 at 8:28 pm #393303
Ok! Mml712001, Evelyn, & RW lets go for it on the 21st! Meet at the ranger station 530am?September 9, 2017 at 8:37 pm #393307
RW let me know when you’re going to try Baldy, I’d be happy to keep you company if we can work out the day 🙂September 9, 2017 at 8:40 pm #393308
I sent you a couple msgs about the above as well as a good way to contact me as I need to know exactly where to meet for San J (I did it via the tram the 1 time). I look forward to meeting you soon. And I am open any M-Th to do Baldy, but ideally not during an active monsoon day :).September 9, 2017 at 8:47 pm #393309
Natalie C.. that sounds good to me! Also keep me posted about Baldy as well. I still need to get that one in.September 10, 2017 at 10:05 pm #393468
I ended up doing San Jacinto via the Marion Mountain trail today. It was the only one left I needed to do that seemed to have decent weather projected. The tram will be closed after today for the rest of the month for maintenance so that trail isn’t an option now. I really liked the Marion Mountain trail but it certainly wasn’t easy. I’d be up for doing it again.
R W I also need to do Gorgonio and can go any day. I tend to hike somewhat slow and steady paces. Let me know if you would like to go (or anyone else)!September 12, 2017 at 2:19 pm #393750
There is a group of women doing Gorgonio this Saturday that hike slow to moderate – there is a post about it in Ask a Question. I sent a message to one and want to go though I am doing Baldy this Th so depends on how I feel. Hoping I can get it done; if not I can go in the next couple weeks depending on weather, prob after Jacinto. I can go any day except Fridays.September 12, 2017 at 2:26 pm #393751
Hi my friend and I are going thursday 9/14…did you know the tram is closed for maintenance for the rest of September? We’re having to go from near Idyllwild…supposed to be shorter but harder…September 12, 2017 at 8:19 pm #393775
