Hiked from the tram up to the summit, hardly anyone passed Wellman’s Divide except PCT hikers. Micro crampon are a must. Report from the PCT hikers is that Idyllwild to the divide is very passable with some snow as you approach the divide. Tram to summit is 95% covered with snow. Summit is still snowy and needs several warm weeks to clear. The creek is roaring with all the snow melt. Over all a pleasant hike but plan on taking much longer than normal and be aware of drop offs and sink holes from all the under layment melt.
