Outdoor-related Twitter Chats
Have you participated in an Twitter chat or tweet-chat?
They are live events that take place entirely via Twitter. Typically there are a couple of moderators who host the chat, and most last for one hour, with a regular weekly schedule.
If you're on Twitter, it's a great way to meet other like-minded folk, share your knowledge and learn a thing or two from everyone else. The way that they work is by using a specific hashtag -- a keyword preceded by the hash or pound symbol (#). You can use Twitter to search for discussions with the appropriate hashtag, and join the discussion.
Twitter Chat Etiquette
Typically the moderator will have a series of prepared questions. They will pose the questions with a tweet that includes "Q1" (for question number one) and the hashtag. To reply, you would use "A1" (for answer one) with your answer and repeat the hashtag.
