JMT September

Starting the JMT at Happy Isles in late August and exiting at Whitney September 25th. What kind of weather can we expect in September...especially the second half? Is any special gear recommended like micro-spikes in case it snows? This is our first backpack trip in the Sierras....very excited!! Thanks, Scott
