JMT Entry Points

Hello,

I will be applying for my permit for the JMT in January for a trip in July. I want to ensure that I have the best odds of getting a permit for the day that I would like, so I was thinking about putting down three trailheads to start.

My first choice will be Happy Isles, Little Yosemite Valley as the official start – but I am totally cool with starting somewhere else and connecting – I won’t feel cheated if I miss hte first few miles 🙂

Any suggestions for choice two and three to connect? Thanks!

Ryan, a couple other popular choices are Glacier Point or Tuolumne Meadows. You can always pickup the Happy Isles to Tuolumne Meadows section another time, or do it in reverse and shuttle back to Tuolumne for the remainder of your SOBO trip.
