I am thinking about hiking JMT from Orange Valley (entry from Town of Bishop ) and exiting at Whitney Portal. My question is how many night stays and what are your favourate camping site on the way ? I live in Michigan , so what would be the best place to fly-in to ? Also where to apply for permit and when. Any other suggestions about this, I will have a weeks vacation to spend , I would appreciate any input in this planning, Thank you.
