My wife and I are hoping to hike San gorgonio via vivian creek trail either sept 9,10,23, or 24, however it looks like there are no more permits available. Does anyone have a permit and wouldn’t mind having two hiking buddies? We are both experienced and strong hikers and usually average between 2-3 mph on peak bagging hikes, however we are happy to go faster or slower to stay with the group.
If not, what are some other routes besides south fork? Thanks!
@James you may want to try obtaining a permit for either the South Fork Trail via Dollar Lake Saddle and the San Bernardino Divide trail (19 miles) or from Momyer Creek via Dollar Lake Saddle and the San Bernardino Divide Trail and exit via Vivian Creek (24 miles). The second option requires the staging of a vehicle in the Vivian Creek parking or walking back to Momyer Creek, which is about 1.5 miles (I ended up walking and it wasn’t too bad it was all down hill). I just checked SGWA Permits and there are permits available for the dates you need them.
