I’m wondering if anyone can give me an update on the current water and bug conditions (among others) between Devils Postpile and Muir Trail Ranch. I’m hiking this stretch the first week in August this year. Thanks for your help.

I was at Devils Postpile two days ago and there was plenty of water running in the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin. Most of the lakes and creeks have water.

Last week I was in Kings Canyon around Granite Pass and the basin and was eaten alive by mosquitos. I would bring DEET.
