Any suggestions for a backpacking weekend trip in November?

Where are you going? Do you have a specific question about gear, food, weather, condition?

Was thinking somewhere within 2 hours from LA. I don’t want to do anything that would potentially involve snow/winter camping. Hopefully we also wouldn’t have to bring in water, be able to get it from streams.

@elanr I only do day hikes, but hiking from the Momyer Creek Trail to Dobbs Camp is and easy and fun trip. It’s about 12 miles out and back. you could also lengthen it by going to Saxton Camp and/or Red Rock Flat Camp (which is right at 10,000′ and near Dollar Lake Saddle. round trip to the saddle is about 21.4 miles with six camp grounds that you pass through. Alger Creek , Dabbs Camp, and just past Saxton Camp (Plummer Meadows) are the best water sources. Out and back from Momyer Creek to Dollar Lake Saddle is about 21.4 miles (including the half mile one way trip down to Dobbs Camp).
